Hello from Kristen at In the Shadows of the Fairy Tale!

I just wanted to send a quick note on the social media accounts for the website.

They’ve been around for a while, and I haven’t used them much except as storage for myself to collect articles and keep around for potential future announcements.

As other people have started to follow them, I thought it was time to formally make their presence more widely known and provide a little more information on what I am starting to do with each one as they grow in size. I try to utilize the different strengths of each for different purposes.

  • Facebook.  Every article that I write that is published here. That includes those on this blog, as well as anywhere else on the Internet. I also post high-quality articles written by others that have up-to-date research, new insights, and thoughts on how to move forward and heal. I’d really like to build a community of commenters on the other articles as well over time.
  • Twitter.  I’m just starting to use this, but, as with Facebook, I also post all my articles from around the Internet there. Unlike Facebook, however, I’ve started using it as a place to post thoughts and ideas about narcissism and narcissistic abuse as they occur to me that aren’t necessarily something I’d want to write an entire article about. Think of it as a real-life commentary on one of these relationships that you might be able to relate to. It’s kind of an experiment.
  • Instagram.  Here I frequently post pictures and memes related to narcissism, narcissistic abuse, healing from psychological abuse, and moving on from abusive relationships and add additional (what I hope is inspiring) commentary or thoughts to provide ongoing psychological support. Some of them I make myself and others times I just post ones I really like.
  • Pinterest.  Think of this as an Internet filing cabinet on narcissism and narcissistic abuse. I created several boards that are each categorized separately into topics such as Defining Narcissistic Abuse, Effects of Narcissistic Abuse, and Empowering Yourself.  Each one changes and grows with new memes, pictures, quotes and articles from all over the web so you can find a body of organized information compiled in one place.

Some of these social media sites I have used more than others, but they’ve all been helpful for me to meet others who have been through this experience, and also to find more information out there that has been useful to me in understanding what I went through.

If any of this sounds appealing to you, please join us over on one or more of these social media sites.  The buttons for joining In the Shadows of the Fairy Tale on social media are all at the top-right of the Home Page on the yellow toolbar above the heading.  You can join one or all of them by clicking each one separately.
